Vida Sylvia of Meeting House Lane, but better known as the 5th grade teacher of J.F. Wilbur School, helped students make it to sixth grade. Vida made sure all the Little Compton students knew their math and fifth grade studies.

Vida was active in other Little Compton organizations, especially the social Rebekah Lodge #11. At Christmas, all the children members of the IOOF #39 and Rebekahs had to memorize their poem and stand on the stage and recite it.
