Each year our special exhibit explores a new theme. It opens Fourth of July weekend and closes in mid-October.

2026 – Little Compton in the Revolution

Every year you may:

Take a guided tour of the Wilbor House Museum to see period rooms representing life in Little Compton from 1690 to 1920. Enjoy a self-guided tour of the new “Everyone Was a Farmer” exhibit to see how local families made their living from farming and a variety of other trades. Explore the lives of Little Compton’s Portuguese immigrants and their descendants in Terra Nova, Vida Nova.

The Wilbor House Museum is available only by guided tour. Regularly scheduled tours are available seasonally. Private tours may be scheduled year round. Our permanent exhibits, Everyone Was a Farmer and Terra Nova, Vida Nova are available for self guided tours year round. Preview of our buildings & grounds.

  • Closed Mondays.
  • We are a small organization. Unexpected circumstances occasionally require us to change our hours. From November to June, please call 401-635-4035 to confirm our availability before your visit.

Always receive free admission to permanent exhibits, special exhibits, and regularly scheduled Wilbor House Tours

Children Under 5: Free
Children Ages 5-12: $5
Adults: $10 ($7.50 without a Wilbor House Tour)

Private Tours by Appointment $15 per person, with a minimum of $60

Groups of 10+ by Appointment $7.50 per person during regular operating hours, $10 per person at other times

School Visits Free to Little Compton Students, Priced Individually for Other Schools

Accessibility

The Everyone Was a Farmer exhibition has a permanent access ramp installed. Upon your arrival, our staff will direct you to park in a space adjacent to the ramp.

If you require access ramps in order to enter the Wilbor House or the Special Exhibition area please notify us, at least 24 hours in advance. Please note that the upper floors of the historic Wilbor House, the second floor of Everyone Was a Farmer and the Terra Nova, Vida Nova are only accessible by stairs. Visitors can view these areas through videos on our YouTube channel.

From Boston

Take Route 93 South to Route 24 South. EXIT Tiverton/Little Compton – Route 77 – go south on Route 77, through the traffic light at Tiverton Four Corners continue south for 7 miles and the Wilbor House will be on the left at 548 West Main Road (Route 77).

From Providence

Take Route 195 East to 24 South. EXIT Tiverton/Little Compton – Route 77 – go south on Route 77, through the traffic light at Tiverton Four continue south for 7 miles and the Wilbor House will be on the left at 548 West Main Road (Route 77).

From Newport

Go north on East Main Road (Route 138) or West Main Road (Route 114) to Route 24 North. EXIT Tiverton/Little Compton – Route 77 – go south on Route 77, through the traffic light at Tiverton Four Corners and continue south for 7 miles. The Wilbor House will be on the left at 548 West Main Road (Route 77).
