Hannah Borden Sowle Peckham
1839 – 1939

It brings me true pleasure to act as the historian of my family.
I am quite fortunate to live in the same town where multiple generations of my ancestors have resided and to have been given a collection of photos of past generations of my family, which were found in the attic of the home that my great great grandparents built on Willow Avenue, which abuts the lot where I grew up.
The focus of this project is on the women from my father’s side of the family. I have included photos, letters and newspaper articles of my great great grandmother Hannah Borden (Sowle) Peckham, and her daughter Harriet James (Peckham) Wordell.
It is an honor to me to be a part of the preservation of the history of our family. I am grateful to the Little Compton Historical Society for affording us this opportunity to share this information for all to enjoy.
