Addie Borden Kirby and Annie Patience Kirby (twins) were born in Westport, MA. on August 29, 1889, to  Pardon and Clara Helen (Haskell) Kirby.

Other siblings were Frank, James, and Charles. She went to Westport schools, completing at least two years of high school.

The 1900 census finds Addie living with her parents in Westport.  By 1910 she was living in Little Compton and married (in 1906 at age 16) to Benjamin Franklin Wilkie, whose wife Rose Knowlton had died two years before and left him with seven children. Benjamin and Addie had eight more children (Edith, Myrtle, Adelbert, Ernest, Irving, Chester, Gertrude (who died at 4 days old), and Doris).

The 1915 State Census finds her still living in Little Compton with Benjamin, a stepson, and 4 children.  Benjamin died in 1917 therefore in the Census of 2020 she is listed as widowed with 6 children and her mother in the home.

In 1940 she remarried to Thomas Bennett, son of William and Caroline (Walker) Bennett.  Her mother and two children were still living with her on Old County Road.

Addie died in 1977 in Dartmouth, MA, and is buried in Beech Grove Cemetery in   Westport, MA.
